FAQ

The $20 fee covers the professional administrative review of your initial documents (Passport, Transcripts, and Resume). Because J-1 visa regulations are strict, we manually screen every applicant to ensure they are legally eligible before they invest more money in the process.

On average, the process takes 1 to 3 months. This includes vetting, host property interviews, DS-2019 issuance, and the U.S. Embassy visa appointment. We recommend starting your application at least 3 months before your desired start date.

  • Intern: You are currently enrolled in a post-secondary academic institution outside the U.S. OR you graduated within the last 12 months.
    • Trainee: You have a degree/professional certificate and at least 1 year of related work experience outside the U.S. OR you have 5 years of professional experience in your field.

Yes. Since you will be training in 4 and 5-star luxury environments, you must have Advanced English (Level B2/C1). You must be able to communicate clearly with guests and understand complex safety and management instructions.

This fee is a comprehensive investment that covers:

  • Legal Visa Sponsorship (DS-2019 Form).
  • Mandatory SEVIS I-901 Government Fee ($220).
  • 12 Months of Premium Health Insurance.
  • English Assessment Test
  • 24/7 Emergency Support in the USA.

GUP offers a transparent refund policy. If your visa is denied, we refund your paid program fees minus a $1,000 administrative fee. This deduction covers the non-recoverable costs of your insurance activation, SEVIS registration, and legal document shipping.

No. Per U.S. Department of State regulations, J-1 Interns and Trainees are only permitted to work at the specific Host Property listed on their DS-7002 Training Plan. Unauthorized employment will result in immediate program termination.
